Visualisation and Guided Meditations

Let's talk about guided meditations and the power of using visualisation.

What are the physical and mental health benefits?

  • It focuses your attention and gives you feelings of calm, peace and balance.

  • It boosts your mental health, improves sleep, relaxes the mind and reduces stress.

  • It increases your self-awareness, calms negative emotions, strengthens patience, and helps to control anxiety.

  • It lengthens your attention span, helps with insomnia and improves your physical health.

Why I am so passionate about visualisation and guided meditations?

My passion for using the power of visualisation grows every day due to the positive results that I myself continue to experience. Just WOW! The realisation that every thought has as much energy and vibration as the spoken word and goes out into the universe to bring you what you are thinking, visualising and speaking about. Words come from an intention/motivation and have an energy. Words create feelings, feelings create emotion. By thinking in images, rather than words, you have the same power to create feelings and emotions. Images can be sensed, felt, heard, smelled and even tasted as well as be seen. Whatever we create in our lives, whether it is cheese on toast, or a business, it begins with an image in our mind.

Now imagine working at a deeper level of consciousness by using guided meditations, visualisation techniques and positivity towards your subconscious. What does the subconscious mind do? The subconscious mind is involved in information processing and affects everything we think, say and do. It stores our beliefs and values, determines our memories and monitors the information all around us, deciding what to send to the conscious mind and what to store for later.

Your mind does not distinguish between a real event and an imagined one so taking part in a guided meditation is similar to having a REAL experience. The narrator walks you through the positive, changing pathways of your mind, and targets your subconscious. By creating powerful images through imagination and visualisation you can communicate to your inner world and subconscious. Visualisation enables you to tap in and change the images that guide our lives. It enables you to develop a new personal vision. Regular guided meditations and visualisations can help you manage and transform your life. It is an important tool to find an inner calm, heal past hurts, improve relationships, stay healthy and contact your spiritual self. You can use it to develop your own personal vision and follow your path.

How changing your thoughts can improve your life

The trick is to understand how it works. If you WANT something the universe will match that “WANTING” with more WANTING. It attracts more of the same. If you are feeling NEGATIVE about your situation, or a person, then you will attract more “NEGATIVITY” because the universe is giving you more of what you are asking for. If your focus is on one particular thing, then the energy and vibration will keep on expanding - giving you back more of what you are focusing on. An example of this maybe “I am always short of money, I never seem to have any money”. If you are focusing solely on this thought, you will expand the energy and vibration of the thought (or spoken word), and more of the same will be brought your way.

However, if you visualise and speak POSITIVE thoughts (even if you aren’t feeling like it) then the positive energy/vibration will go out into the universe and bring you more POSITIVITY. I recently saw a wonderful TikTok explaining this concept. On one side of your brain you have positive workers and on the other you have negative ones. If you get up and say “Oh I feel so tired and fed up today nothing is going right” then the negative workers say “Ok everyone she is having a bad day today and feeling tired and fed up. Let’s get to work”. And your day continues in the same way because the universe thinks you want more of the same. However, If you get up and say “Today is going to be a good day” then the positive workers take the reins and say “She is having a good day today, let’s get to work”. The focus on that will expand to give you more of the same – a good day!!!

Would you like to learn more about how you can use visualisation and image work?

In the autumn I will be launching my first course - Every Day Colour (practical ways to use colour to improve your physical and mental wellbeing). I will be running this affordable course in September 2022 over 4 weeks (one evening a week 7pm – 9pm). The course will also be recorded for those that can’t attend the live session.

During this course, we will be doing deep visualisations and guided meditations to strengthen and balance your body physically and mentally. It will teach you to start visualising, to make changes in your life and to even create your own healing room for yourself and others.

If you are interested in joining me for this course, please email me on pennywilcoxserenity@gmail.com so that I can inform you of the dates as soon as they are finalised. The cost will be £30 for the 4 evenings if you pay upfront or £10 per evening (leaving a deposit of £10 for the first evening) if you wish to pay weekly.
