The fun of having a Tarot Party

Have you ever thought of getting some friends together for a Tarot Party?

I have done quite a few and they are a great way to celebrate a birthday, a special celebration, or just to have some fun with your friends and family.

There are lots of different options, which I can tailor around you.

Let me tell you a little bit about them, how you can set one up and what to expect.

Tarot Parties

Tarot in a group/party works well for many reasons:

Firstly, it is a social get together with friends and family, which in turn makes it feel less daunting. This is a great opportunity for those who are a little bit shy about trying tarot for the first time! Some customers are happy to have a reading in front of the rest of the guests and that often works well as it lifts the energy in the room and can provide a lot of giggles (usually alcohol is involved!).

Secondly, it can be more affordable. With a larger party the readings can be anything between 15/20 minutes to 30 minutes per customer instead of the full hour. If there were a lot of guests then I would recommend 15/20 minutes otherwise you would not have the time to get through everyone. Or you are a group of 4, you could have 45 minute to 1 hour readings. It’s really flexible so we can work out what’s best for you and your party.

I always bring a large selection of cards, books, crystals, smudging sticks and incense with me, so whilst the tarot readings are going on there are plenty of things to read, look at and try out. I have a huge number of different sets of cards which are forever growing.

It is fun to shuffle the cards whilst holding a question in your mind (or no question at all) and then see which card you are drawn to. It has always amazed me to see how many times the results pick up what is going on in your life and reflect that back to you in the answer.

How on earth does that work?

I think people are beginning to realise that the cards are not about telling your future, (which a lot of people think is predestined) but the reflection is actually about what is going on in your life, the things that might be of concern to you and tuning into your subconscious. The cards are literally reflecting yourself back at you, like a mirror.

Tarot is not spooky, nor is it evil as it only reflects the energy of the moment and the reader. It mirrors our emotions, feelings, soul and being. It can provide an instant and direct way to understand the rhythms or patterns at work in your life. It can help develop our own self awareness so that we can make conscious choices, understand the reasons behind a situation or give guidance as to the next stage of our personal life journey.

Let's look at card spreads and options for readings:

I start off by doing a snapshot of 6 cards which reflect the customer, the love in their life, their money, their work/home life, their health and the near future (usually 3 - 6 months) This snapshot forms the basis of any readings and the same cards can often feed into other spreads.

Other card spreads we can look at are:

Gypsy spread - This looks at the past, present and future (usually up to around 18 months)

Celtic Cross - This is a 10 card spread which helps to answer direct questions.

Where do I go from here? This is an interesting spread to look at your life, what is causing you problems and what is the best option.

My priorities right now - This is a spread that looks at what may be blocking you and what you can change. It also looks at what you need to accept.

The Love Test - This is a good spread to do if you are looking for a partner.

Current Challenges and Future outcomes - speaks for itself but can be quite insightful.

How do I find Love - This looks at the kind of love you need, and where you will find that.

What other cards could we use? Here are some examples:

Other cards I use can be just as fun as tarot cards and can be incorporated into the readings.

I have lots of Angel Cards where you can close your eyes and think of a question/situation and see what card you pull. Or you can just ask what you need to know at this moment and pull the card you are drawn too.

I have two sets of colour cards where again you can ask a question or see what colour you may need in abundance at this moment in time.

Soul cards tell you what your soul has come to this earth to do in this lifetime and can be very insightful.

I have my own tarot cards and have always used the Gilded Tarot simply because I love the colours, illustrations and feel of the cards. There are so many different tarot cards but most people learn tarot with the Ryder- White tarot as they are quite easy to read.

My goal is to ensure that everyone has a good, fun time and we finish feeling positive, happy and supported with questions answered.
